KANO LAWMAKER MOBILISES 2000 IMAMS FOR TINUBU, APC SUCCESS AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS

The lawmaker representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has organised a special prayer session involving about 2,000 Imams and Islamic clerics for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The prayer gathering took place at the Jumu’at mosque built by the lawmaker in his hometown of Kofa, located in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State. The event attracted clerics and Islamic scholars from different parts of the region.

Among those present was the immediate past Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and Chairman of the National Islamic Intellectual Forum, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman.

Delivering a sermon during the event, Prof. Usman praised the clerics for their dedication and urged them to continue praying for peace, unity, and the country’s leadership.

He described President Tinubu as the most capable among the available political contenders and encouraged Nigerians to continue supporting leaders committed to development and national unity.

Speaking after the prayer session, Jibrin thanked the Imams and Ulamas for their commitment and support.

The lawmaker stated that President Tinubu had consistently shown support for Northern Nigeria and had continued to invest in the growth and development of the region.

He also appealed to the clerics to take the message back to their various communities, stressing that prayers and grassroots mobilisation remain important in sustaining peace and political stability in the country.

The event later moved to Jibrin’s residence, where he officially launched a house-to-house mobilisation campaign in support of President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf.

According to him, the visitation campaign would begin across Kano South and gradually extend to other parts of the state in the coming weeks, with the aim of reaching people at the grassroots level.

Jibrin, who is seeking a fifth term in the House of Representatives, described the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen support for APC candidates and promote continuity in governance.

He added that the campaign would help spread the party’s message while encouraging stronger community participation in the political process.
