#Key Information for NIN Applicants Abroad: What You Need to Know.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has mandated all bank customers to link their National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) to their bank accounts.

The NIN comprises 11 random digits assigned to individuals upon enrollment into the National Identity Database (NIDB). On the other hand, the BVN utilizes biometric technology to securely identify individuals based on their unique characteristics, enhancing authentication for real-time security measures.

Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), emphasized the importance of following the Commission’s instructions to safeguard BVN information from misuse by unauthorized individuals. Adegoke urged Nigerians to refrain from disclosing their BVN to anyone during the NIN enrollment process. Instead, applicants should input their BVN directly into the enrollment system or provide it verbally to the enrollment officer solely for verification purposes.

In prioritizing the security of NIN applicants’ data, the NIMC underscores its commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards throughout the NIN enrollment process and related services. The Commission assures applicants of its dedication to ensuring data protection and information security.

“Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to strive for excellence in serving you,” concluded the statement.Breaking news HeadlineHeadline news
