The lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Olushola Elliot, has announced his intention to contest for re-election in the upcoming legislative polls.

He made the declaration via a Facebook post on Sunday, confirming that he has already obtained his nomination form to seek another term in office.
Elliot explained that his decision is driven by his commitment to public service and his desire to continue ongoing development projects within Surulere Constituency I. He stated that returning to the House would make him a ranking member, a status he believes would bring additional benefits to his constituency.

According to him, “My going back makes me automatically a ranking member and loads of benefits come to our constituency as a result of this feat.”
He also expressed appreciation to party leaders, ward executives, community stakeholders, youth and women groups, and supporters who have contributed to his political journey, describing their backing as a key factor in his progress.

Elliot called for calm and unity among his supporters as the election period approaches, urging them to remain peaceful and focused. He emphasized that togetherness has always been a strength of the constituency and expressed confidence that the same spirit would guide them through the electoral process.

He reaffirmed that his main priority remains the continued development of Surulere and contributing to the broader growth of Lagos State.
