Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Samuel Ajose, has purchased the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms valued at ₦50 million.
The Badagry-born philanthropist picked up the forms in Abuja, just hours after the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other party leaders, endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as their preferred aspirant for the party’s ticket.
Despite the endorsement, Ajose said his decision to remain in the race is driven by a strong commitment to service and a clear vision for Lagos.
In a statement shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, he described the move as a significant step in his political journey.

“I have officially picked up my nomination and expression of interest forms, taking a definitive step forward in my aspiration to serve as Governor of Lagos State on the platform of our great party, the APC,” he said.
Ajose stressed that his ambition goes beyond politics, framing it as a personal commitment to purposeful leadership and inclusive governance.
“This moment is bigger than a political process. It is a personal commitment to purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and the kind of progress that every Lagosian can feel and point to,” he added.
He further noted that his vision is centred on ensuring development reaches every part of the state, creating opportunities for residents and leaving no community behind.
“My resolve is rooted in service, anchored in a clear vision, and driven by one conviction—that Lagos deserves development that reaches every community, creates real opportunities for its people, and leaves no one behind,” Ajose said.
