LAGOS -CALABAR COASTAL ROAD……the real truth & nothing but the TRUTH_*
So, intelligent human beings actually bought into this APC government’s “Tales by Moonlight”, that they have plans to build & complete a 700km, $13billion/N15trillion coastal road project from Lagos to Calabar with the next 8yrs.
Unfortunately the bitter truth, which all must swallow now is that, this whole fuss and games, is just intended to enable the Stakeholders in Eko Atlantic phase one and two projects, to use Federal Government might and resources, to do a world class elitist coastal road , that will link these new 2 (two) cities , to the new havens, being opened up at the Ibeju Lekki axis 47km away plus the adjoining Deep-sea port.
All these businesses and outfits, that were destroyed along the pathway, are just collateral damages, on the paths of this mindless and avaricious quest by a few to feather and fan their private economic interests …
N1.067trillion/$889million for this 47km that will be completed in 36 months is actually *The Real Scam*
After this first phase, they will use the POPPYCOCK lure and bait of doing the second phase to campaign for second term, with the very hope that the South South States, will fall for under Carlo CIPOLLA 5 LAW OF HUMAN STUPIDITY, and give them massive votes in the next Elections .
If they secure the second term, they will abandon the the remaining phases of the project, which ofcourse, abinitio, they had no plans or intentions whatsoever to do.
JUST LIKE BUHARI ABANDONED THE 413KM EAST-WEST ROAD , AFTER USING IT’s THE DEPLORABLE STATE IN HIS CAMPAIGN AS ONE OF THE SINS OF HIS MAIN RIVAL GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN
Construction of 413 km long East West Road, which in part connects Calabar to Lagos was originally started in 2006, but sadly still not yet completed after 18 years…and still counting
A very close look at the aerial topography of the Niger Delta coastal areas will expose the futility of such a dream. If only just part of a non-coastal & less financial implications East West Road couldn’t be achieved, one wonders what gives a man (& women) the right to swallow the current Lagos-Calabar coastal Road line, hook & sinker. Earlier we all Wake up & smell the rat the better.
Worse of all there aren’t as of today any evidence of N15trillion/$13bn being budgeted in the MTEF plan of the FGN
Exclusivity of BANANA ISLAND in Ikoyi will next be replicated in IBEJU LEKKI AXIS @ the end of the day.
Even Toll on that 47km stretch of road, won’t be readily affordable to the majority .
Most ironically a number of past Nigerian Head of States have a way of drafting willing allies to achieve their bidding,
Just as Babangida found useful tool in Uche Chukwumerije,
Abacha found Arthur Nzeribe/Walter Ofonagoro,
Buhari found Chibuike Amaechi,
Tinubu has found Umahi Dave, as that useful instrument to ram their disdain for opinion of a good majority of Nigerians, down their throats .
