The Labour Party has released its timetable and schedule of activities for its 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, fixing the cost of its presidential nomination process at ₦50 million.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, the party said the schedule complies with the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms will begin on May 6 and end on May 16, while submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 17 to May 18.

The party outlined different fees for various positions, with House of Assembly aspirants paying ₦3 million, House of Representatives ₦5 million, Senate ₦10 million, and governorship aspirants ₦25 million.
For the presidency, aspirants are required to pay ₦10 million for expression of interest forms and ₦40 million for nomination forms, bringing the total to ₦50 million.
However, the party granted exemptions to some categories, including women, youths aged 25 to 30, and persons living with disabilities, who will only pay for expression of interest forms.

The statement also confirmed that Abia State Governor Alex Otti will receive both his expression of interest and nomination forms free of charge, in recognition of his performance and contributions to the party.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 20 for state-level positions and May 22 for National Assembly and presidential aspirants, with results to be released on May 23.

Appeals and petitions will be heard on May 24 and May 25, while final lists of cleared candidates will be published on May 26.
Party primaries for House of Assembly and governorship positions will hold on May 27, while National Assembly and presidential primaries are set for May 29.
The Labour Party also urged intending aspirants who are yet to register to complete their membership registration ahead of its submission to INEC.
