In the recent 10th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference held in Lagos, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been re-elected as the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state. This decision, along with other key executive positions, was made unopposed, with 28 additional executive members joining the leadership.

The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by lawyer Mr Adejare Kembi, solidifying the re-election of Oluomo, Deputy Chairman Alhaji Sulyman Ojora, Treasurer Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle (Sego), and the other executive members. Expressing gratitude, Akinsanya acknowledged the support from the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the national leadership of the union.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by a Director in the Ministry of Transportation, Lateef Tiamiyu, praised the union for moving away from past practices of violence during leadership changes. Meanwhile, the acting National President emphasized the need for the newly elected leaders to exhibit exemplary leadership, capacity, and sacrifice. He urged them to foster an open administration characterized by fairness, equity, and justice, promoting unity and harmony within the union.
