Thirty-year-old politician and grassroots mobiliser, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Buba announced his ambition under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after obtaining the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms.
Sharing the development on his verified Facebook page, the young aspirant said his decision was inspired by a desire to promote inclusive leadership and better representation for the people of Sabon Gari.
According to him, his journey from working as a driver to becoming a political contender reflects the power of resilience, determination, and equal opportunity.
Born on August 2, 1995, in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State, Buba has built his political identity around grassroots engagement and youth inclusion.
He currently serves as chairman of the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” support group and has become increasingly visible within APC political activities in Kaduna State.
Over time, he has been seen with several prominent political figures, including President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello El-Rufai, and Seyi Tinubu.
As part of his political consultations, Buba also presented his nomination forms to Vice President Kashim Shettima, Akpabio, and other APC leaders.
Speaking on his ambition, the aspirant promised to deliver honest representation, quality leadership, and development-focused policies if elected into the National Assembly.
He stated that his goal is to ensure the voices and concerns of constituents are properly represented while promoting opportunities and progress across the constituency.
His declaration has continued to attract reactions from political observers and stakeholders, including former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, who described Buba’s ambition as a motivation for Nigerian youths.
Buba also revealed that Vice President Shettima offered him encouragement and prayers during a recent meeting, adding that the gesture further strengthened his resolve to pursue the race.
If successful in the 2027 election, Buba could emerge as one of the youngest lawmakers in Nigeria’s National Assembly.
