NAFDAC BLAMES CHINESE SYNDICATES FOR SURGE IN COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS IN NIGERIA

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised concerns over the growing circulation of counterfeit products in Nigeria, alleging that Chinese syndicates are behind a significant portion of the illegal trade.

The agency said the activities of these networks have contributed to the increasing availability of fake and substandard products in the Nigerian market, posing risks to consumers and legitimate businesses.

NAFDAC stressed the need for stronger measures to identify and stop those involved in the importation and distribution of counterfeit goods.

The agency also called for greater cooperation among relevant authorities and other stakeholders to tackle the networks responsible for the trade and protect Nigerians from potentially harmful products.
