The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, was involved in a road accident on Monday along the Keffi–Akwanga highway.
The crash left his vehicle badly damaged, though the lawmaker reportedly survived and is said to be in stable condition. The wreckage was later moved to the Assembly complex in Lafia for inspection.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, visited the damaged vehicle alongside other lawmakers and expressed gratitude that the incident did not result in any loss of life.
“We thank Almighty God for saving the life of the Deputy Speaker from the auto crash. We are grateful that he is alive and safe,” Jatau said.
Eyewitness accounts and early reports suggest the Deputy Speaker escaped with no life-threatening injuries.
Road crashes remain a recurring concern on Nigerian highways, including the Keffi–Akwanga axis, which has witnessed several serious accidents in recent years. Stakeholders often attribute these incidents to factors such as overspeeding, poor driver discipline, and gaps in road safety enforcement.
