The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will hold its maiden national convention in Abuja on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, and shared on the party’s official X platform on Friday.
According to the party, delegates from different parts of the country are expected to attend the convention alongside key stakeholders and members.

The gathering will be held at the Los Angeles Event Centre along Ahmadu Bello Way in Abuja, with activities scheduled to commence by 10 a.m.
The party stated that all arrangements had been concluded and advised delegates to arrive early for a smooth start to the event.

Meanwhile, the NDC has also denied reports suggesting it had entered into a political agreement with former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The party maintained that discussions concerning its presidential ticket were still ongoing and that no official decision had been reached.
Speaking in Abuja, the party’s Deputy National Spokesman, Abdulmumin Abdulsalam, stated that the NDC had not zoned its presidential ticket or sealed any agreement with Jonathan.
