A member of the House of Representatives representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Aderemi Oseni, has declared his intention to contest the Oyo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, saying his ambition is driven by a desire to expand development across the district.
Speaking during his official declaration in Ibadan, Oseni told APC leaders and supporters that his move is rooted in service and a commitment to improving the lives of the people.

He said his time in the House of Representatives has been defined by infrastructure and empowerment projects, including road construction, bridge development, and school renovations across his constituency.
According to him, these achievements reflect his capacity to deliver on a larger scale if elected to represent the entire Oyo South Senatorial District, which comprises nine local government areas.
“I have served, and I want to serve again with even greater responsibility. For me, politics is about service, not self-enrichment,” he said, adding that his decision to run was inspired by a sense of duty.
Oseni also highlighted youth empowerment as a key focus of his agenda, claiming that several young people in his constituency have benefited from economic support initiatives aimed at boosting local enterprise.
He pledged to replicate such programmes across the senatorial district, with the goal of strengthening the local economy and improving livelihoods.

The lawmaker urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united ahead of the 2027 elections, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances.
He described President Bola Tinubu as a mentor and called for collective efforts to secure victory for the party in the next election cycle.
Oseni also reiterated his commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, including market women, artisans, and youths, through targeted financial and empowerment programmes.
With his declaration and growing support from party stakeholders, he has positioned himself as a key contender for the Oyo South senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 polls.
