NIGERIAN ARMY ARRESTS TWO SOLDIERS OVER ALLEGED UNAUTHORISED DEPLOYMENT AT PELLER AND JARVIS’ WEDDING

The Nigerian Army has reportedly arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in providing security at the wedding of popular content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos.

According to reports shared by Nigerian Stories on X, the soldiers were taken into custody on Tuesday after intelligence indicated they had attended the event in an official capacity without military approval.

The personnel were identified as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) in Obalende, Lagos.

Sources said the Army has launched a preliminary investigation to determine how the deployment was arranged and whether other military personnel were involved.

The development follows the circulation of videos from the wedding showing soldiers in uniform controlling crowds and escorting guests around the venue. One of the widely shared clips allegedly showed a soldier escorting TikTok personality Ivanna during the event.

The Nigerian Army has consistently maintained that serving personnel are not allowed to provide private security services or take part in any deployment without official authorisation.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
