Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming the party lacks a clear plan and direction for Nigeria.

In a statement released on Friday, Onanuga described the NDC as a gathering point for “politically displaced” individuals seeking relevance ahead of the 2027 elections.
His remarks come as the party continues to attract attention following the recent move of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into the party after their exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to Onanuga, the NDC is no different from the ADC and has failed to present a unique vision for governance in Nigeria.

He explained that he had visited the party’s website on multiple occasions in search of its manifesto and policy direction but was unable to access any document.
Onanuga stated that each attempt to download the manifesto returned a “No document found” response, despite the website displaying a link to the manifesto section.
He also questioned the party’s readiness for the ideological battle it claims it will bring into the 2027 general election, especially as no official manifesto has been uploaded since the party received legal recognition earlier this year.

The presidential aide further argued that the few policy points currently displayed on the website were vague and resembled familiar political talking points rather than a structured national agenda.
Despite his criticism, Onanuga said he still hopes the NDC will eventually unveil a detailed vision and mission for the country.
