Suspected Abuja criminal Chinaza Philip-Okoye, notorious for armed robbery, insists he’s not a kidnapper.
During a recent interview at the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, he explained that his gang primarily operated at night, targeting cars for theft and selling them in Kano. Philip-Okoye claimed their intention was to rob a man for his car when, unexpectedly, their leader directed the victim into the car’s back.
The police intercepted them in Kaduna, leading to Philip-Okoye’s arrest. He had sustained injuries from police gunfire during the gang’s apprehension at a fueling station. The arrest also involved the rescue of a kidnapping victim, Segun Akinyemi, from Abuja to Kano.
The FCT Police Command had received information about the abduction, prompting a joint operation with Kaduna police officers to apprehend Philip-Okoye and rescue the victim.
