Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, signed two separate agreements committing to serving only a single four-year term if elected president in the 2027 general election.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today, Kwankwaso explained that one of the agreements was executed on behalf of the party, while the other was a personal agreement between himself and Obi.
He said the arrangement was designed to ensure that, after an Obi administration completes its four-year tenure, the presidency would return to Northern Nigeria in 2031.
Kwankwaso added that the agreement was formally documented, stressing that both the party and the candidates had signed the necessary documents to reflect the commitment.
