The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun as the running mate to its Ogun State governorship candidate, Olamilekan Adeola, ahead of the upcoming election.

Her selection was confirmed during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Friday, attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, party leaders, and elders, where the decision was said to align with the party’s zoning arrangement.
Adegunwa-Balogun, 51, who hails from Ososa in Ijebu, was chosen from among several aspirants from Ogun East senatorial district.

She is a seasoned corporate executive with over three decades of experience in finance, manufacturing, and business leadership, and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director for Finance and Information Technology at Rite Foods Limited.
In that role, she has been credited with contributing to the company’s significant growth and expansion into a major player in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods sector.
She holds degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration, and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She has also completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and The Wharton School.

Party leaders described her as a highly qualified professional whose experience in corporate governance and economic development would strengthen the APC ticket.

The governorship candidate, Olamilekan Adeola, expressed confidence that she would add value to the party’s campaign and support its development agenda for Ogun State.
