OGUN ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS TWO COMMISSIONER NOMINEES

The Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of Adenike Ademokun and Olayemi Sanusi as commissioners following a screening exercise held at the state legislature.

The approval came after Governor Dapo Abiodun requested legislative confirmation for the nominees to join the State Executive Council.

Ademokun was screened and confirmed on Thursday, while Sanusi received his confirmation earlier during plenary proceedings.

During the sitting presided over by Speaker Daisi Elemide, lawmakers expressed confidence in the nominees and urged them to apply their experience toward improving governance and public service delivery in the state.

The Assembly noted that its approval followed the adoption of the Committee of the Whole House report, which assessed the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and performance during the screening sessions.

Ademokun, in her remarks, highlighted her previous roles in the state civil service, including her service in the State Civil Service Commission, saying she would use her experience to enhance effective governance.

After the confirmation, the Speaker instructed the Clerk of the House to forward the resolution to the governor for further action.

For Sanusi, lawmakers commended his credentials and called on him to uphold the values of his local government area in his new role. He previously served as Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security before his nomination.
