Concerns have emerged over the deteriorating condition of a secondary school located in Adonte, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, after a video showing the state of the facility surfaced online.

The video, shared by a user on X, highlighted the poor condition of the school buildings and drew attention to the lack of basic infrastructure within the compound. According to the post, the school is the only secondary school serving the Adonte community.

The user revealed that part of the school had reportedly been renovated by a private individual using personal funds, despite not being affiliated with the government. The post also pointed out that Delta State is one of Nigeria’s major oil-producing states, raising questions about the condition of public education facilities in rural communities.

The footage showed classrooms without ceilings, doors, and windows, while parts of the school environment appeared overgrown and poorly maintained. The situation has triggered fresh concerns about the state of infrastructure in public schools across parts of Delta State.

Although Delta State has reportedly accessed federal education intervention funds intended for basic education projects, complaints about inadequate facilities and deteriorating learning environments continue to surface in several communities.

The incident has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians questioning why a community with only one secondary school still faces severe infrastructure challenges despite ongoing investments and funding initiatives in the education sector.
