Political tension is rising in Osun State following comments made by Nigerian music star Davido against the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
Davido, in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, accused Oyetola of political desperation amid the growing political atmosphere ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election.
“The most desperate politician in the world is @GboyegaOyetola, very embarrassing,” Davido wrote. “Oyetola, your plan no go work.”
Although the singer did not explain what alleged plan he was referring to, the post quickly sparked reactions online, with supporters and critics weighing in across social media platforms.
The development comes as political activities continue to intensify in Osun State ahead of the next governorship election, with political figures, supporters and public personalities increasingly engaging in heated exchanges both online and offline.
As of the time of filing this report, Oyetola and his camp had not officially responded to Davido’s remarks.
The exchange also highlights the strong intersection between politics and celebrity influence in Osun State, where public figures often openly support political interests and candidates.
Reacting to the post, an X user identified as @rashid_Yakin wrote: “Your uncle unseat him as governor, he wants his revenge… now all of a sudden he is desperate.”
Another user, @GiwaBaban, criticised Davido’s approach, saying: “It’s high time you stop this your online ranting! Campaign for your uncle in peace.”
