OSUN POLL: EJIGBO YOUTHS DECLARE SUPPORT FOR APC’S BOLA OYEBAMIJI

Youth representatives from the 11 wards in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State have declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 election.

The endorsement came under the banner of the Ejigbo Youth Stakeholders, following a road walk through major parts of the town to mobilise support for the APC candidate.

Speaking after the rally, the group’s leader, Miftau Adebowale, urged voters to focus on leadership competence and development rather than emotional political campaigns.

He said the priority should be securing meaningful development for Ejigbo through better infrastructure, job creation, agricultural support and quality representation.

“Our local government should not become a tool for political sentiments. What our people need are good roads, opportunities for young people, support for farmers and effective governance. That is why youths from all 11 wards have decided to support Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji,” he said.

Adebowale, who previously served as Special Assistant on Media to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, praised Oyebamiji’s record in public service.

He noted that as Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Oyebamiji oversaw an increase in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue from ₦6 billion to ₦24 billion without placing heavy tax burdens on small businesses or low-income earners.

He also highlighted Oyebamiji’s experience as the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), describing him as a technocrat with valuable federal connections.

Adebowale further pointed to the historical ties between Ikire, Oyebamiji’s hometown, and Ejigbo, saying both communities share a common ancestry.

According to him, supporting Oyebamiji represents both a strategic political decision and a continuation of long-standing historical ties.

He added that having an APC governor in Osun, alongside President Bola Tinubu at the federal level and APC House of Representatives candidate Ayodele Asalu, would strengthen cooperation across different levels of government and attract more development to Ejigbo.

He concluded by urging youths, students, artisans, market leaders and community elders across Ejigbo Local Government to support Oyebamiji at the polls and prioritise competence over political sentiment.
