The appointment of Streams of Joy International Ministry Founder and Lead Pastor, Jerry Eze, as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Heirs Life Assurance has sparked mixed reactions.
The appointment, which took effect on Monday, August 10, 2026, was announced by Heirs Life Assurance, the specialist life insurance company of Heirs Insurance Group.
According to the company, Eze’s appointment is part of efforts to promote financial inclusion and increase insurance adoption in Nigeria through greater public awareness, consumer education and improved long-term financial resilience.
Chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, Tony Elumelu, welcomed the cleric to the board, describing him as an individual with “an exceptional combination of integrity, influence, and a deep understanding of people and communities.”
Elumelu said Eze’s experience and reach would contribute to the company’s efforts to make insurance more accessible, strengthen consumer confidence and expand financial protection among Nigerians.
He added that the appointment would support efforts to deepen financial inclusion and encourage more Nigerians to embrace insurance as part of their long-term financial planning.
