The Nigeria Police Force has arrested four suspected bandits and recovered a cache of weapons during an operation in Kaduna State.
The suspects — Abdumumini Abubakar, Maikano Gambo, Saleh Thompson, and Oyonyi Odango — were apprehended on March 7, 2026, in Tayu, Sanga Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, the items recovered from the suspects include four AK-47 rifles with magazines, 80 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, and a locally made pistol with 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects are connected to banditry and other violent criminal activities in the region.
Police authorities said efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the group who are still at large and to recover more weapons.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the operatives for the successful operation and reaffirmed the commitment of the force to tackling banditry and improving security across the country.
