#Police Kill ‘Wanted Notorious Kidnappers’ In Abuja, Destroy Camps

The ongoing battle against insecurity in the nation’s capital has yielded significant results, with wanted kidnappers neutralized and their camps destroyed in Abuja, according to the latest announcement from the police authorities.

Force Spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi reported that on February 9, 2024, around 2:40 am, the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Bureau – Intelligence Response Team (FIB-IRT) launched a successful operation based on intelligence. This operation targeted and eliminated notorious kidnappers, including the identified kingpin Musa Wada (Sabo) Magaji, in the vicinity of Mpape, Abuja.

The police team engaged the criminals in a 30-minute gun battle, resulting in several kidnappers being fatally injured. Unfortunately, one police operative sustained bullet wounds during the operation.

This operation follows closely on the neutralization of Abubakar Wada, an associate of Musa Wada, on February 8, 2024. Musa Wada, also known as Sabo, was the mastermind behind numerous ransom kidnappings affecting areas such as Mpape, Bwari in the FCT; Kagarko in Kaduna; Masaka, and Nukun Village in Nasarawa State.

Force Spokesman Adejobi emphasized that the recent operation was executed through a surprise assault, leading to the recovery of items from the hideout, including mobile phones, multiple SIM cards, charms, and hard drugs. The police are actively working to retrieve additional arms, ammunition, and equipment used by the criminals.

This news brings relief to Abuja residents who have experienced heightened fear due to the activities of kidnappers and other criminals in recent months. The police authorities, amidst the challenging security situation, reassured residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of their commitment to dealing with the issue.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike echoed this commitment, vowing to collaborate with relevant authorities to make the area uncomfortable for criminals.

Wike emphasized their dedication to the fight against insecurity, asserting that criminals will face the consequences, and they “will see fire for fire.”
