The State House has defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s absence from recent project commissioning events, attributing it to ongoing security challenges across the country.
Presidential spokesperson Sunday Dare stated that the President is currently in Lagos, receiving regular intelligence briefings and closely monitoring developments. He explained that Tinubu has prioritized national security over public engagements following recent attacks in Kaduna, Niger, and Plateau states.

Dare highlighted that the government is responding with coordinated military operations, including Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Safe Haven, aimed at curbing insurgency and maintaining law and order. He added that security forces have intensified counterinsurgency efforts, resulting in the arrest and prosecution of several suspects.
“Dozens of top insurgents have been neutralised in recent months, and hundreds of suspects apprehended,” Dare said, stressing that the administration’s actions are yielding tangible results.
He urged Nigerians to remain confident in the government’s commitment to restoring security nationwide while emphasizing that the President’s presence in the field allows for more effective coordination of response measures.
