#President Tinubu Promotes ADC to Colonel (VIDEO)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promoted his Aide-de-Camp (ADC), Lt. Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, to the rank of Colonel in a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.

The event, which took place in the President’s office complex, was attended by Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the ADC’s wife, and other dignitaries.

A Distinguished Career

Lt. Col. Yusuf has had a remarkable career, highlighted by extensive military training and service. He was appointed Tinubu’s ADC in April 2023, shortly before the President’s inauguration on May 29.

Yusuf holds an Ordinary National Diploma in Computer Science from Offa Polytechnic (2000) and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. He further honed his skills at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, UK, where he was commissioned into the Officers Cadre in 2005.

Advanced Military Training and Experience

Over the years, Yusuf has undergone specialized training in intelligence, security, and military operations across Nigeria, Mali, Pakistan, China, Israel, and the United Kingdom. He earned a Master’s degree in Defence Studies from King’s College, London, in 2018.

His career includes roles such as:

  • Officer-in-Charge of the 119 Intelligence Group, Lagos
  • Operations Officer at HQ 4 Brigade, Benin
  • Officer Commanding the Presidential Body Guard at the State House, Abuja
  • Assistant Director of Intelligence/Security

Between 2020 and 2022, Yusuf served in Paris, France, as part of the Nigerian Defence Section. Before his appointment as ADC, he was a Staff Officer at the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps Headquarters in Abuja.

The promotion ceremony underscores President Tinubu’s confidence in Yusuf’s capabilities and highlights his dedication to serving Nigeria at the highest levels of governance and security.
