The decision was announced during Thursday’s plenary session, where minority members of the 10th Assembly presented a consensus list to fill the vacant positions of minority leader, deputy minority leader, and minority whip.

Following the nomination, Rep. Frederick Agbedi was selected as Minority Leader, Rep. Abdulsamad Dasuki became Deputy Minority Leader, while Rep. Mansur Soro was appointed Minority Whip.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, officially confirmed the appointments on the floor and declared the leadership lineup complete.

He congratulated the newly appointed lawmakers and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the legislative agenda of the Assembly, noting that cooperation among all principal officers would strengthen parliamentary work.

The appointments came after consultations within opposition parties in the chamber, aimed at ensuring proper representation and smooth coordination within the minority bloc.

With the development, both majority and minority leadership structures in the House are now fully constituted, a move expected to enhance legislative efficiency and oversight.
