Human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi, has praised Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the recently resigned Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, describing him as more honorable than other members of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
Farotimi made the remark in a post on X (formerly Twitter) while reacting to Nnaji’s decision to step down following allegations of certificate forgery.
The report shows that Nnaji tendered his resignation letter on Tuesday, after being accused of submitting forged documents during the ministerial screening process.
Reacting to the development, Farotimi commended the ex-minister’s action and called on others facing similar allegations in the current administration to follow his example.
He wrote:
“I don’t know him, and I no send am. BUT this guy is more honorable than every other person in the cabinet from which he has ‘honorably’ resigned.
When is the aspiring Hitler of Obiakpor resigning, and would the honorable precedent be following suit?”
Farotimi’s post appears to criticize the moral standards within the administration, suggesting that Nnaji’s resignation, though controversial, demonstrates a rare act of accountability among government officials.
