Tributes have continued to pour in for elder statesman and political figure, Otunba Busura Adedeji Alebiosu, as he celebrates his 90th birthday, with prominent leaders including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former Supreme Court Justice George Adesola Oguntade commending his long-standing contributions to politics and governance.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described Alebiosu, a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and Chairman of the Council of Otunbas of Ijebuland, as a stabilising force and a respected leader whose influence has significantly shaped the political development of Lagos State.
In a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor praised the celebrant—fondly known as the “Bush of Africa”—for his enduring role in Lagos politics, particularly since the early years of the Fourth Republic.
Sanwo-Olu noted that Alebiosu’s political journey spans multiple eras, including his time in the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Somolu/Kosofe Constituency, as well as his contributions during successive political administrations from the late Sir Michael Otedola era to the present democratic system.
He described him as one of the key pillars of Lagos politics, praising his humility, calmness, and vast experience, which he said have continued to guide political stability in the state.
The governor also offered prayers for continued good health and wisdom for the nonagenarian, expressing hope that he would remain a guiding voice in political affairs.
Former Supreme Court Justice George Oguntade also paid tribute, describing Alebiosu as a man of strong character, integrity, and deep political influence whose contributions to grassroots leadership and governance have left a lasting legacy.
Oguntade highlighted Alebiosu’s reputation as a loyal and disciplined leader, noting that his political career reflects resilience, service, and commitment to the collective good.
He further praised the celebrant’s role in mentoring younger politicians and promoting unity and stability within Lagos State’s political structure, describing his influence as far-reaching beyond public office.
As he marks his 90th birthday, Alebiosu is widely celebrated as a grassroots mobiliser and political strategist whose decades of service continue to attract tributes from leaders across the state.
