#SPORTS: CAF Assigns Egyptian Referee Omar to Officiate Nigeria vs. South Africa Showdown in AFCON 2023

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 semi-final clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will be officiated by Egyptian referee Amin Mohamed Omar, as announced by the Confederation of African Football.

Scheduled for Wednesday at 5 pm Cote d’Ivoire time (6 pm in Nigeria), the match will have Omar’s compatriots, Mahmoud Kamel Abouelregal and Ahmed Hossam Ibrahim, serving as assistant referee 1 and assistant referee 2. Mahmood Ali Ismail from Sudan will be the fourth official, with Attia Essa Amsaaed from Libya as the reserve assistant referee.

The officiating team also includes Yacoub Ali Elmi from Djibouti as the commissioner and Aboubacar Doumbouya from Guinea in the role of referee assessor.
