Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi has rejected the Federal Government’s disclaimer distancing itself from his appointment as head of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), insisting that official government records support the council’s existence.
Earlier this month, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, publicly stated that the alleged council does not exist under the current administration and that no appointment had been made for such a position.

The statement also urged foreign missions, financial institutions, development organisations, and members of the public to disregard any claims linking the council to the Presidency.
However, during a press conference in Abuja, Adeyemi dismissed the government’s position, describing it as inconsistent with existing official records.
He claimed that the council operates bank accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), occupies office space within the Federal Secretariat, and received approval for more than 300 staff members from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Adeyemi argued that the existence of those records contradicts the claim that the council has no legal or administrative recognition.
He called on President Bola Tinubu to establish an independent investigative panel to examine all official documents relating to the council and determine its legal status.

Meanwhile, a review of the 2026 Appropriation Act shows that the Presidential Economic Advisory Council/Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council is listed under the Presidency with a total budget allocation of N1.302 billion.

The budget includes N802.9 million for personnel costs, N200 million for overhead expenses, and N300 million for capital projects.
