SUNBETH TO LAUNCH 70,000MT COCOA, 80,000 MT CASHEW PROCESSING PLANTS IN MARCH 2027

Sunbeth Global Concepts Ltd has unveiled plans to establish a 70,000-metric tonne cocoa processing factory and an 80,000-metric tonne cashew processing facility as part of efforts to strengthen local agro-processing and expand Africa’s value chain capacity.

The announcement was made by the company’s Managing Director, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, during the Africa Cocoa Finance and Investment Forum held at the London Stock Exchange.

According to the company, both facilities are currently under construction and are expected to be commissioned in March 2027.

Owoyemi said the investment reflects Sunbeth’s transition from being mainly a commodity trading company into a fully integrated agro-processing business focused on creating more value within Africa.

The cocoa processing plant is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global cocoa market, while the cashew facility will target both West African demand and export markets across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

He explained that the company’s expansion strategy goes beyond simply increasing production capacity, stressing that long-term sustainability depends on building a strong supply chain from the farm level upward.

“Scaling in this industry demands far more than capacity expansion. A 70,000-metric tonne cocoa processing plant is only as viable as the supply chain that sustains it,” he said.

Owoyemi noted that the company plans to deepen backward integration by investing directly in farming, farmer education, financing, logistics, and technology to improve crop yields and maintain steady supply for the factories.

As part of this strategy, Sunbeth Global Concepts Ltd is also implementing its Orange Cocoa Sustainability Framework, which focuses on quality control, farmer training, and partnerships aimed at improving cocoa production standards.

The company currently operates in Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon, three of West Africa’s leading cocoa-producing countries, while also maintaining offices in London, Dubai, and New York to strengthen global trade and financing operations.

Sunbeth said its long-term vision is to position Africa not only as a leading producer of cocoa and cashew but also as a major hub for processing, trading, and value creation in the global agricultural market.

The company added that its investments in processing infrastructure, research, and international market access are designed to support that goal over the coming decades.
