SUSPECTED ARMS DEALER ALLEGEDLY DISAPPEARS AFTER COLLECTING ₦95 MILLION FROM BANDIT LEADER

A man suspected of arms trafficking has allegedly gone into hiding after collecting ₦95 million from a notorious bandit leader with the promise of supplying firearms in Katsina State.

The allegation was made by the member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu, popularly known as General, during an interview with NTA Hausa.

According to the lawmaker, the suspect received the money from a bandit commander operating in Matazu Local Government Area, claiming he would procure and deliver sophisticated weapons.

However, after collecting the payment, the suspect reportedly disappeared without delivering the firearms, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

The incident has reportedly heightened tension in parts of Matazu, where armed groups continue to pose security challenges despite ongoing efforts to restore peace.

Hon. Aliyu also noted that the development comes at a time of renewed security concerns in the area, following reports that a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Maha, recently withdrew from local peace agreements.
