Suspected armed attackers on Tuesday night reportedly invaded the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, and made away with firearms belonging to officers on duty.

The incident was said to have occurred around 10 p.m. at the immigration facility located along the Ogbomoso–Ilorin Expressway near a filling station in the area.
Witnesses said the attack took place while business activities were still ongoing at the nearby Ayanyan Cattle Market, one of the major commercial centres in the community.

The gunmen allegedly overpowered security personnel stationed at the office before seizing their weapons and escaping from the scene.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of firearms taken during the operation. Details surrounding the attack remain unclear, including whether any officers or civilians sustained injuries.

Reacting to inquiries about the incident, the spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that he had not yet received an official report regarding the attack.

He noted that updates would be provided once the command obtains complete information about the incident.
