His passing came on the same day the family gathered to observe the sixth-year Fidau prayer in memory of the late former governor.

Following the memorial prayer, Florence Ajimobi, widow of the late governor, thanked family members, friends, political associates and supporters who attended the event and offered prayers in honour of her husband. She also prayed for Allah’s mercy upon him and wished everyone peace and good health.

Reacting to the news, the 2023 All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin, described the deceased as a caring, dependable and selfless relative whose guidance and generosity would be greatly missed. He prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus while giving the family the strength to bear the loss.

Before his death, Teslim Ajimobi was a prominent businessman based in the United Kingdom. He was also active in politics, serving as Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government Area in 2017 and remained influential in Oyo State’s political and business communities.
