Tinubu’s Daughter Threatens Protest Over Lagos APC Primary Results
The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has threatened to lead a protest over the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State, alleging that the exercise was manipulated in favour of the party’s Justice Forum faction.
Tinubu-Ojo made the remarks on Wednesday during the weekly meeting of market leaders and stakeholders held at her office in Alausa, Ikeja.
She specifically questioned the results released by the Lagos APC for Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Agege Constituency 2, and Ojokoro constituencies.
The Lagos APC had earlier announced the list of candidates who emerged from its House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. The list, signed by the state APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, contained 24 House of Representatives candidates and 40 candidates for the State Assembly.
Reacting to the outcome, Tinubu-Ojo insisted that some candidates who genuinely won the primaries were allegedly denied their mandates.

“We are ready to protest because of Seye Oladejo of Mushin Federal Constituency 02, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo of Agege 2 constituency, and Olotu Ojo of Ojokoro constituency because we know they won this election. Their mandate should not be given to somebody else,” she said.
She called on the APC leadership at both state and national levels to urgently review the disputed results before final ratification, warning that unresolved grievances could create deeper cracks within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tinubu-Ojo also criticised the growing rivalry between the Justice Forum and Mandate Group within the Lagos APC, alleging that political alignments were now being influenced by assumptions about who would emerge as the party’s next governorship candidate.
“We have to cry out now. Let APC cancel Justice and Mandate Forums. We are one family. We are for APC. Now, they are using Justice Forum and Mandate because our candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, belongs to the Justice Forum.
“Everyone is now joining the Justice Forum because they believe that is where the incoming governor belongs. Are we not Lagosians? We are all APC,” she said.
She further condemned what she described as the defection of Mandate Group members into the Justice Forum for political advantage, warning that such developments could discourage loyalty and hard work within the party.
“It is saddening. It is a way of telling us that hard work does not pay in politics. Something must be done about it,” she added.
Tinubu-Ojo reaffirmed the support of market women across Lagos for the governorship ambition of Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates, while demanding greater political inclusion and recognition for traders who continue to mobilise support for the ruling party.
