Tinubu Affirms: Nigeria Set to Transform into Net Exporter of Food

President Bola Tinubu expressed his administration’s commitment to achieving food self-sufficiency and transforming Nigeria into a net exporter of agricultural products through aggressive mechanization during a meeting with a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday.

In a statement titled ‘President Tinubu: We are determined to achieve food sufficiency for Nigeria,’ signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu underscored the significance of spiritual endeavors in nation-building and pledged support for religious activities. He outlined plans for boosting agricultural productivity, including the introduction of thousands of tractors, expansion of farmlands, provision of low-interest loans to farmers, and substantial investments in irrigation infrastructure.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of collaboration between political and spiritual leaders to advance the nation’s interests, promote unity, and dedicated efforts to enhance healthcare, ensuring social welfare for every citizen, including comprehensive health insurance coverage.

Acknowledging the support and prayers of the Global Tijaniyya Movement, Tinubu thanked them and stressed the collective efforts required to build a better Nigeria.

The Khalifa of Tijaniyya, Sheikh Mahe Niass, representing the delegation, commended President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s peace, progress, and stability. Niass expressed confidence in the President’s leadership and conveyed fervent support and prayers from the Global Tijaniyya Movement.

During their visit, the delegation offered prayers for the nation’s progress, unity, prosperity, and invoked Almighty Allah’s wisdom, strength, and success for President Tinubu.
