Nigerian afro-house singer Niniola Apata has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in a series of emotional messages shared on social media.
The Grammy-nominated artiste revealed the heartbreaking news through posts on her Instagram Story during the early hours of Wednesday.
In the emotional posts, Niniola expressed her grief, stating that God had taken her husband after 13 years together.
Before his death, Michael Ndika was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a media platform dedicated to afro-house music and African entertainment content.
The singer, who is known for keeping her private life away from public attention, did not disclose the cause or circumstances surrounding his death.
Niniola gained national recognition after emerging as one of the top contestants on Project Fame West Africa in 2013. She later rose to international fame with her hit song Maradona released in 2017.
Over the years, the singer has earned global recognition and worked alongside several international music stars including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland and Beyoncé.
