Former Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun on Technical Education, Joseph Odemuyiwa, tragically lost his life in a fatal auto crash. Odemuyiwa, a Professor of Business Education known for his dedication to training individuals in vocational skills, reportedly passed away on Tuesday in an accident on his way to Ibadan. The sad news of his demise was confirmed by Remo North State constituency lawmaker, Dickson Awolaja. Awolaja, who hails from Isara Remo like the late professor, stated, “I just received confirmation from a friend not long ago. Prof was en route to Ibadan when the accident occurred. This is truly heartbreaking.” Odemuyiwa was renowned as a Nigerian professor skilled in 19 vocations. Apart from his academic credentials, Joseph Odemuyuwa engaged in learning various trades from artisans and informal vocational centers to enhance his skill set. He previously served as the President of the Workplace Educators and Managers Association of Nigeria (WEMAN).
In another unfortunate incident, a speeding driver reportedly struck and killed an unidentified male pedestrian during the early hours of Tuesday in Ketu along the Mile 12 – Ikorodu Expressway of Lagos State. The driver, transporting pepper and perishable items, collided with two other vehicles and the pedestrian, resulting in the death of the pedestrian and injury to a passenger. Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, confirmed the tragic event. He stated, “An overloaded commercial Toyota Hiace Bus (with registration number NSW 216 XA) carrying pepper and other perishable goods collided with two Volkswagen commercial buses in the early hours today and fatally injured a male pedestrian at Ketu near Demurim Junction heading towards Kosofe, Lagos.”
