Proceedings in the case involving the driver connected to the road accident involving Anthony Joshua have been postponed again, with the court granting an adjournment to allow prosecutors revise the charges.

The Ogun Magistrate’s Court sitting in Sagamu Local Government Area adjourned the matter to June 2, 2026, following a request by the prosecution to amend the existing charge.
This marks the third delay in the trial, as the legal team continues efforts to update the case before it proceeds further.

The defendant, Adeniyi Mobolaji, is facing multiple charges, including dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, and driving without proper care and attention. He is also accused of causing bodily harm, property damage, and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s licence.
The court approved the adjournment after the prosecution’s request, which was not challenged by the defence.

According to defence counsel, the delay is intended to ensure fairness and proper handling of the case for all parties involved.
The charges stem from a fatal accident that occurred on December 29, 2025, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The crash resulted in the deaths of two members of Joshua’s team, while the boxer and the driver sustained minor injuries.

The incident drew widespread attention within the global boxing community due to the significance of those affected.
