Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has stated that President Bola Tinubu would only lose the 2027 presidential election if voting were conducted on social media platforms rather than at physical polling units.

The governor made the comment during a television interview on Channels Television, which gained attention on Sunday amid ongoing political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He argued that online engagement and narratives do not accurately reflect real electoral strength, stressing that actual voting takes place at polling units where different dynamics come into play.

According to him, while social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram may show strong opposition sentiment, they do not determine real-world election outcomes.
Sani added that if elections were based solely on online popularity, President Tinubu would likely perform poorly, but he maintained that the president remains strongly positioned to win the majority of votes at polling units.

He projected that Tinubu could secure a significant share of votes in a real electoral contest, dismissing the idea that social media influence translates directly into electoral victory.
His comments come amid increasing political activity and online mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly involving supporters of various political figures who have maintained strong digital presence since the 2023 polls.
