In a remarkable display of skill, Mr. Qudus Owoyemi, a 400-level student in the Department of Statistics at the University of Ilorin, has secured a new world record for the fastest completion of five skin fade haircuts. The University’s bulletin, issued on Monday, highlighted that this exceptional feat was achieved in an astonishing 14 minutes, 56 seconds, and 83 milliseconds, surpassing the previous record of 18 minutes and 57 seconds.

The event, which unfolded on January 25, 2024, at the University, is now poised to earn a coveted spot in the Guinness World Book of Records. Owoyemi, not only a record-breaker but also a University scholar boasting an impressive CGPA of 4.87, captivated the audience with his swift and precise hair-cutting skills.

The Sub-Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Garba, and the Students Union President, Mr. Joseph Ologundudu, were among the witnesses to this extraordinary achievement. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, commended Owoyemi’s remarkable accomplishment, expressing the University’s pride in his achievement.
