University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) needs urgent attention!
UITH Ilorin needs urgent attention. It is like a death trap at the moment and from recent past. No light despite the almost 20 hours power supply in adjourning University of Ilorin main campus. Just a few kilometres away but backing one another in the same campus. Now imagine in UITH where there’s no light in the wards, none in the theatres, none in the mortuary, no water to wash hands not to talk of bathing the patients. No light to sterilise equipments. It’s a complete death trap.
My Professor walked in or drove himself into the facility but detained and his corpse left the hospital. The second Professor was rescued out by his driver and taken to a private hospital. May Almighty Allaah come to our rescue. Why are we keeping silent??? Can someone invite President Tinubu to UITH? Who is the CMD (Chief Medical Director) and what are his duties? Political appointment should be duly addressed. Imagine driving your Mother into UITH at night and behold a complete dark edifice, no light, but flashes of lights from patients holding torch light to find their path. Yet, doctors, consultants, professionals who are busy diverting patients to their own private practice besiege the hospital, collecting bogus salaries and ready to go on strike for salary increment! As a solution, patients whose family can afford the fees are diverted (referrals) to private hospitals in town from a TERTIARY HOSPITAL to secondary hospitals?
Meanwhile UITH is wasting away… _Lives are lost_, not really saved here.
