The United States Consulate and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in combating sextortion and other transnational financial crimes.
The renewed partnership aims to improve intelligence sharing, enhance investigative capabilities, and strengthen joint efforts to address cyber-enabled crimes that affect victims across international borders.
Officials from both sides stressed the importance of closer cooperation in tackling emerging financial crimes, particularly online extortion schemes, internet fraud, and other cross-border criminal activities that require coordinated law enforcement responses.
The collaboration is expected to further reinforce ongoing efforts to identify offenders, prosecute criminal networks, and improve the capacity of law enforcement agencies to combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes.
