Venture Global LNG Inc., a leading US liquefied natural gas exporter currently engaged in a dispute with several customers, has announced plans to acquire nine LNG carriers as part of its strategic expansion. Founder and Chief Executive Officer Mike Sabel revealed in an interview that this initiative marks a significant milestone, positioning Venture Global as the first American LNG producer to directly own a fleet of vessels rather than relying on charters or leases.
The acquisition of these LNG carriers enables Venture Global to enhance its sales operations by marketing its cargoes directly. By bypassing trading houses and intermediaries, the company gains greater autonomy in selling its LNG products, particularly in the spot market.
