WHITE HOUSE IN PANIC REVIEW OF TRUMP’S SECURITY AFTER GUNMAN ATTACK AT CORRESPONDENTS’ DINNER

The White House is preparing an urgent review of President Donald Trump’s security arrangements following a shooting incident that disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night.

The scare unfolded at a packed ballroom in Washington, where more than 2,000 guests—including President Trump, the Vice President, senior cabinet officials, and other high-profile attendees—were present when an armed man allegedly opened fire.

According to a senior administration official, top White House aides will meet this week with Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security representatives to reassess presidential protection protocols after what has been described as a serious security breach.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, reportedly entered the venue carrying multiple weapons, including a shotgun, handgun, and knife. He allegedly began shooting inside the event before being confronted and overpowered by security personnel. During the incident, a federal agent was shot but survived due to a bulletproof vest.

Despite the severity of the attack, President Trump publicly praised the Secret Service for their response and rapid evacuation efforts, insisting they acted decisively under pressure. He also said the Correspondents’ Dinner would need to be rescheduled.

However, behind the scenes, the incident has triggered renewed concerns over event security, particularly for large public gatherings involving the president.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is expected to lead the review session, which will focus on both the response to the attack and possible upgrades to security procedures for future events.

Officials say the review will examine what worked during the response and identify gaps that may need urgent reinforcement, especially as Trump prepares for several major public appearances in the coming months.

Those upcoming engagements include high-profile events tied to the FIFA World Cup, the United States’ 250th independence anniversary, and reportedly a UFC event planned at the White House.

Questions have also been raised about screening procedures at the venue, with reports indicating that guests were not required to present identification and passed through limited security checkpoints.

Following the incident, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa said he would seek a formal briefing from the Secret Service, noting growing concern among lawmakers about presidential security standards.

Speaking shortly after the incident, President Trump acknowledged the risks faced by protective agents, describing their role as “one of the most dangerous professions.”
