In a statement, the president encouraged Islamic leaders to intercede for the nation at this critical time, while urging citizens to sustain the virtues learned during Ramadan—piety, empathy, selflessness, and compassion. “We have much to gain from the lessons of Ramadan. Let us continue to practice kindness, perseverance, and generosity beyond this period,” he said.

Senior lawmakers also shared messages of goodwill. Senate President Godswill Akpabio reminded Nigerians to embrace the values of compassion, forgiveness, and unity, emphasizing care for the less privileged. House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas described the prayers of Nigerians as instrumental in fostering peace and stability, noting that divine intervention will guide the country toward a new dawn.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele highlighted the need for peaceful coexistence and a holistic approach to national security, combining both military and non-military measures. He urged greater investment in education, healthcare, social protection, and innovation as part of long-term security planning.

House Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu called on citizens to reflect on sacrifice, resilience, and compassion, assuring that government and parliamentary efforts are ongoing to improve living standards, economic growth, and national well-being.

The leaders collectively emphasized that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to reinforce national cohesion, shared humanity, and the collective responsibility of every Nigerian to contribute to the country’s progress.
