ONDO MOBILISES: YOUTH BLOC TARGETS MASSIVE VOTE SURGE FOR TINUBU

A group of youths in Ondo State has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying his administration deserves a second term based on ongoing economic reforms and infrastructure development.

The endorsement was made under the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu (OYAT), which also announced plans to mobilise one million votes across the state’s 18 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration followed the group’s sensitisation tour of Odigbo and Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo local government areas. Speaking on behalf of the group, its Director General, Thalis Olonite Apalowo, said the administration has made notable progress that requires continuity to fully deliver results.

He explained that major reforms and development projects often need time to mature, adding that sustained leadership would help consolidate current gains.

Apalowo pointed to infrastructure projects such as the Akure–Ore road as visible evidence of government efforts, noting that such developments are already influencing public perception, especially among young people.

“If not for misinformation, many of these projects are clear and impactful. The Akure–Ore road shows commitment to infrastructure development,” he said.

Beyond infrastructure, he highlighted federal initiatives aimed at improving welfare, particularly for youths, including programmes focused on empowerment and job creation.

He said the sensitisation tour is designed to educate young people on government policies while strengthening grassroots mobilisation across the state.

According to him, the group is building strong structures at ward, unit, and local government levels to ensure effective coordination ahead of the elections.

“We are strengthening our grassroots presence. Our structures will be active across all levels to drive mobilisation,” he said.

Apalowo also stressed the importance of discipline and accountability within the group, noting that proper organisation would be key to achieving its one million vote target.

Other coordinators who spoke during the tour described the campaign as a step toward increasing youth participation in politics and improving political awareness across communities.

They added that the outreach would continue across all 18 local government areas, as the group works to expand support for the president ahead of the 2027 elections.
