The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced Dr Gabriel Pidomson as its governorship candidate for Rivers State following the conclusion of its primary election.
Pidomson emerged winner after polling a total of 112,086 votes, defeating four other aspirants who participated in the contest held across the 23 local government areas of the state.
The primary election results were announced in Port Harcourt on Saturday night by the chairman of the ADC primary election committee in Rivers State, Carol Obaro, after the final collation of votes at the party secretariat.
According to the results, Sekonte Davies came second with 16,872 votes, while former Peoples Democratic Party aspirant Farah Dagogo secured 2,369 votes to finish in third place.
Other contestants included Leloonu Nwibubasa, who scored 1,476 votes, Allen Ezekiel Hart with 268 votes, and Henry Ogbonna with 546 votes.
Obaro declared that Pidomson, having secured the highest number of votes, satisfied all requirements and was duly returned as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2026 election in Rivers State.
