The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) has arrested 396 beggars in a fresh operation aimed at improving public order and tackling illegal activities across the state.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the exercise forms part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing campaign to keep the state clean, orderly and safe for residents.

According to him, the arrested individuals will undergo proper profiling before receiving necessary support where applicable. He added that they would later be transferred to the appropriate authorities to facilitate their safe return to their respective states of origin.
Wahab stated that the operation demonstrates the government’s determination to maintain environmental sanitation, enhance public safety and preserve law and order throughout Lagos.
